The current section of floating dock has been worn and damaged by storms and passing vessels and is in need of replacement. The existing sundeck is in poor condition and is showing its age. It also is in need of replacement. We are proposing to remove and dispose of the current portions of the floating dock and sundeck, then replace them with new. We would also like to remove the deteriorated existing 10' x 19' sundeck on the south pier due to the same issues and replace it with a new one. The new structure will be in the same exact footprint however we would like to construct a small 10' x 12' gazebo roof over a portion of the sundeck. The drip line will not exceed the foot print of the existing sundeck. The Blockade Runner utilizes this dock to allow guests to board their boats that shuttle them to Masonboro Island, take them on fishing trips and on sightseeing tours. The current sundeck provides guests an area to congregate while waiting to depart. The owners want to provide them a safe area to wait where they are protected from the elements. I have attached a drawing along with a Google Earth image depicting what we are proposing. Please contact me anytime if you have any questions or require anything further 910-470-6610. Thank you, Michael Conard
