Re: General Emergency Permit to repair/replace pier and dock damage
Dear Mr. Dail:
As one of many private homeowners in the post -Florence impact area, I ask that you provide assistance
and direction in securing the necessary CAMA/NCDEQ permit(s) to repair and replace my pier and dock.
I have attached a description of the property and proposed work. As you know, it has been difficult to
almost impossible to find contractors to do this work and I have been successful but time is of the
essence. We have gone to contract with Guthrie Construction for the pier and EZDockPlus for the dock,
conditioned on your approval.
I also asked that the permit fee be waived as per the emergency rules in place.
I have spoken with my neighbors (16 W Ridge and 18 W Ridge) and they have no objections to the
proposal (Adjacent Owner Statements attached). Dr D'Avello also agreed to a 13' setback as opposed to
a 15' setback.

WAIVER SECTION
I understand that a pier, dock, mooring pilings, breakwater, boathouse, lift, or groin must be set
back a minimum distance of 15' from my area of riparian access unless waived by me. (If you
wish to waive the setback, you must initial the appropriate blank below.)
I do wish to waive the 15' setback requirement. I approve a 13' setback as
