The existing 74" in diameter by 52' in length corrugated metal pipe and sandbag cement headwalls will be removed and replaced with an 84" in diameter by 39' in length metal pipe with aluminum headwalls. The pipe will be aligned to be centered within the existing R/W. Please find enclosed the completed DCM MP-1 and DCM MP-5 application forms detailing NCDOT's proposal under the Sections 07H. 2300 General Permit. The goal is to restore safe travel on SR 1900 as well as to meet current hydraulic standards for the proper conveyance of the waters to Pages Creek beneath the roadway. c. Describe the proposed construction methodology, types of construction equipment to be used during construction, the number of each type of equipment and where it is to be stored. Dewatering of the construction site will be accomplished by installing temporary sheet piles approximately 7' upstream of the existing inlet and approxiamtely 7' downstream of the proposed outlet location. A bypass pump will be used to dewater the site and any effluent from the construction area will be directe dto a sill bad for treatment prior to discharge back into the stream. The project will require the use of excavators, dump trucks, graders, and rollers. d. List all development activities you propose. Removal of the existing 72" x 52' CMP and sandbag headwalls and installation of a new 84" x 39' CMP with 31'6" Aluminum Headwalls. The existing water line will be cut during the pipe replacement and reinstalled in the same footprint within the existing maintained, earthen shoudler. New Asphalt will be laid after the new pipe and headwalls are installed. Shoudlers will be graded and vegetated. e. Are the proposed activities maintenance of an existing project, new work, or both?
