Wade 144 Leslie Court Hubert, North Carolina 28539 Thursday, December 12, 2019 Ryan Davenport NCDENR Morehead City, North Carolina 28557 Dear Mr. Davenport: On Friday, December 6, 2019, Mr. Sosa, our next door neighbor who lives at 142 Leslie Court, along with his dock builder requested that Mr. Wade sign a 15 foot waiver to allow Mr. Sosa to relocate his boat lift along the left perimeter of our property. The dock builder handed Mr. Wade the permission form with a pre-existing checkmark the dock builder had placed on the 15 foot waiver line. Mr. Wade penned an X through the checkmark and wrote his initials in front of the mark. Then Mr. Wade wrote a check in front of the line that stated not to exceed 15 feet, however he neglected to initial that line. Mr. Sosa has an existing boathouse that contains his boat lift which is located approximately 9 feet from our water line. His proposed plan is to floor his existing boathouse and relocate his boat lift to the left side of the boathouse. This plan would require that he move his boat lift 8 more feet toward our water line. Approximately one foot would remain between Mr. Sosa's line and ours. Mr. and Mrs. Wade visited Mr. Davenport at the Cama Office in Morehead City, N.C. on Monday, December 9th to explain opposition to Mr. Sosa's planned request. The reason for the opposition is that Mr. Sosa's proposal will create a situation in which the boat lift will be much too close to our line and possibly extend beyond the property line since the line angles out toward his dock.
