Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Here are pictures and a shot of the first page of the easement. The bridge is 49 feet from outside to
outside of the end support pilings. The intermediate pilings are about 13 feet from the ends. Let me

DEED OF EASEMENT
THIS DEED OF EASEMENT, made as of this 3rd day of March,
1993 by JOSEPH E. THOMPSON and wife, TAMI J. THOMPS021 and
JAMES E. THOMPSON and wife, JANET T. THOMPSON (hereinafter
referred to as the "Grantor"), and FRANKLIN G. WELLES and
wife, JOAN MARIE S. WELLES (hereinafter referred to as the
"Grantee");
W I T N E S S E T H•
That Grantor, for a valuable consideration paid by the
Grantee, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hereby
grants to the Grantee, its heirs, successors and assigns, a
perpetual, nonexclusive easement over and across the easement
area more particularly described on Exhibit "A" hereto and
incorporated herein by reference (the "Easement Area") for
the purposes of affording Grantee ingress, egress and regress
(and for no other purposes) from the Southern margin of a 20
foot canal over which canal, Grantee shall construct a bridge
to afford Grantee access to that property owned by Grantee on
the Northern edge of said canal, Grantee's property being
more particularly described in Deed Book 575 at Page 384 in
the Office of the Reqister of Deeds of Dare County, North
Carolina (excepting that property conveyed from Grantee to
Grantor by Deed dated March 3, 1993) and Grantee's ` property being referred to herein as (the "Benefited Property").
This Deed of Easement is given subject to the following
terms and conditions:
(1) Grantor and their successors and assigns shall
forever retain the right to modify the Easement Area upon
recordation of a amended plat in the Dare County Registry
provided said Amended Easement Area provides ingress, egress
and regress from that point designated I'M" as described in
Exhibit A to that point designated as IIC" in Exhibit A.
(2) Grantor shall have the right but not the obligation
