Revised 7/06/ 17

Ryan Davenport
CAMA Permit Officer
N.C. Division of Coastal Management
400 Commerce Street
Morehead City, NC 28557
Dear Ryan:
It was good to speak with you last week regarding our community's plans to
(1) repair our damaged boat slip and (2) replace our damaged boat ramp. Both
structures are physically located on the north side (Sound side) of the Emerald
Plantation Road cul-de-sac in Emerald Plantation (Emerald Isle).
As a follow-up to our conversation, I am requesting your consideration for a
"general" permit to allow us to accomplish both of these activities in a timely
manner. Based on actual on -site assessments of these facilities conducted by several
marine contractors, the boat slip area would require only a reconstruction of several
boat slips, not a total replacement. However, due to the severe damage to the entire
boat ramp, the contractors indicate the existing ramp would need to be completely
removed and rebuilt. Of course, we would rebuild the boat ramp with the same "foot
print" as that of the current structure. Certainly, let me know if you have any
questions of my request and/or need further clarification. On behalf of EP's 108
property owners, I appreciate your timely consideration.
Sincerely, aueury 10
