The North Carolina Department of Transportation Division 3 office is proposing to place riprap at 326 Waynick Boulevard to stabilize the shoreline adjacent to Banks Channel that was eroded during Hurricane Florence exposing the existing roadway and utilities. As part of the process to obtain an Emergency CAMA permit for the proposed riprap, we are required to notify Carolina Yacht Club as the adjacent property owner located at 324 Waynick Boulevard. The area of proposed riprap measures approximately 80' in length by 8' in width. If possible, please respond to this email as soon as possible with confirmation that you have received this notification and whether or not you have any objection to the proposed work. I have attached photos of the existing damage and proposed area of work. If you can zoom in at on the last photo, you can see some of the erosion landward of your bulkhead's wingwall. I apologize as I thought I had a better one of the damage on your property. You will want to contact Brooks Surgan, the local field representative for the Division of Coastal Management, for any proposed repairs to your property. He can be reached at (910)-796-7270.
