The bridge will continue to function as it is functioning now as there are no plans to alter traffic patterns, even temporarily. The purpose is to replenish voids in the existing riprap revetment without altering the overall slope and address the scour behind the existing revetment by adding additional riprap landward of the existing revetment. c. Describe the proposed construction methodology, types of construction equipment to be used during construction, the number of each type The base for the additional riprap will consist of class IV with class II riprap used to fill in voids. Although the proposed landward section of additional riprap will have a relatively flat slope, the existing revetment will maintain it's approximately 3:1 slope. Equipment necessary for the placement of the additional riprap will include an excavator, backhoe, and dump trucks. All work will be conducted above the NHW level. All equipment will be stored within the RAN on high ground. A barge may be required to import class IV riprap. d. List all development activities you propose. Replenish existing voids in existing riprap revetment as maintenance and repair. Extend existing revetment approximately 10' landward. e. Are the proposed activities maintenance of an existing project, new work, or both? Both f. (US421) in New Hanover County. Please find the enclosed permit drawing depicting the proposed location of the additional rip rap. NCDOT will be requesting a CAMA General Permit 07H.1100 and are required to notify you as the adjacent riparian property owner.
