The proposed new pipe will maintain the same length and diameter as the existing pipe and will continue to convey water from the existing coastal wetlands to an existing tidal ditch contiguous with the Cape Fear River. The purpose of the project is to replace the existing deteriorated crossline pipe to continue to allow for conveyance of stormwater and aquatic passage under the existing roadway. The site will function the same as it functions now upon project completion. c. Describe the proposed construction methodology, types of construction equipment to be used during construction, the number of each type of equipment and where it is to be stored. Dewatering of the construction site will be accomplished by installing sheet piles approximately 5' upstream and 5' downstream of the existing inlet and outlet which will tie back in to the road shoulder. A bypass -pump will be used to dewater the site and any effluent from the construction area will be directed to a silt bag for treatment prior to discharge back into the stream. The project will require the use of excavators, dump trucks, grader and rollers to removed the existing asphalt and pipe and install the new pipe and lay the new asphalt on top. d.
