The proposed conduits will parallel the bridge at East Dogwood Trail and span from east of South Dogwood Trail from an entry pit and bored under the Jean Guite Creek to the west of Hickory Trail to an exit pit in Southern Shores, North Carolina. The proposed conduits as shown on the drawings included with this letter, we propose to start the installation from an entry pit west of Jean N Dogwood Trail and travel approximately +/- 120' to the edge of Jean Guite Creek. The conduit will then span across approximately +/-70' beneath the bottom of Jean Guite Creek buried to a depth of 4. The conduit will then travel upland approximately +/- 210' and west of Hickory Trail to an exit pit. We propose to install the new conduits by utilizing Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), a method selected due to its minimal environmental impacts. At the completion of the project, any areas disturbed by the construction efforts in the upland areas will be addressed with regrading, seeding and strawing. As you will see within the documents, along with the early visitations with the APO's on both east and west sides of the project, we have provided registered mail receipts to the owners for the written notification along with complete drawing packages. We expect the acknowledgment forms to be signed and returned in prompt fashion and forms that are returned to our office will be forwarded to your office. Let me see if they have some sort of easement that they haven't given me. I'm not so sure that I can issue a permit for boring on or under private land without easements.
