Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Good Afternoon Ms Styron,
I understand that you have viewed the referenced premises in the last couple of days in the context of, hopefully,
approving the demolition of an existing pier and the building/ replacement of a new pier located on or adjz cent to the
property lines between the two referenced lots.
I am the owner of 318 Old Causeway Road and my neighbor Sam Edwards is the owner of the adjoining property at 314
Old Causeway Road. We are working together to try replace the existing pier.
I'm advised that you need a consent letter signed by both of us because the proposed location is so close to or on the
boundary between our lots.
This email is my attempt in providing my consent and agreement that the old pier should be removed and :3 new one, in
accord with plans that Mr Edwards possesses and may well have already provided to you.
If you need additional information my contact information is tagged to this email. My cell number is 423 240 8001 and,
coincidentally, I plan on being at the house at 318 tomorrow afternoon, Friday and through the weekend if you need to
speak to or come back by the premises.
Thanks and please advise if this note is sufficient for your purposes
