Just for clarification, I wanted to let you know that an objection is not actually necessary if the only factor is that the riparian property owner does not wish to wish the 15'. Without a signed/initialed waiver, the development would not be permitted in the 15' riparian corridor. (We do not honor an 'x' or 'check mark'....The riparian property owner must initial.) What some property owners have done is noted beside the "I have no objection to this proposal", something like "...as long as the pier/lift/etc. is not within the 15' setback". When we receive a formal objection, our District Manager has to conduct an onsite visit of the property/project area before a permit can be issued, and we have to write a formal letter acknowledging the objection. Since you have Schaefer's email, Kevin, I would recommend you forward a copy of the modified drawing to Mr. Schaefer, as well as a new statement form, for him to acknowledge/sign. Please cc me with a copy of the drawing as well. I hope this information answers your questions/concerns.
