WBS number: 17BP.3.C.2 Dear Mr. Lane: The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is proposing to install a new 8" waterline beneath "The Swash" which crosses under SR 1 l45 Village Point Rd. SW in Shallotte, Brunswick County. The existing structure consists of 3 @ 48" RCPs. The waterline installation will be performed by means of direction boring under the creek and surrounding wetlands (approximately 10' beneath the bottom of the existing structure) for approximately 190 LF and will require open trenching for the bore pits (approximately 35 LF on either side) which will be constructed entirely on high ground. No permits are required from the N.C. Division of Water Resources and a Nationwide Permit 12 has been issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is included in this application package.
