This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certifythatthis project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Dear Ms. Styron:
We recently purchased a lot at Howland Rock Subdivision at 126 Myrtle Lane in Beaufort, NC. The lot
has an old wooden bulkhead adjacent to a man-made boat harbor off of Davis Bay. The bulkhead has
deteriorated and is subject to total failure. We are submitting the attached drawings showing our
proposed repair by replacement with a vinyl bulkhead. The adjoining riparian owners have already
completed similar repairs. We would like to construct the new bulkhead 2'-3' offshore of the existing
bulkhead so that we have room to install geotextile fabric with sand backfill as well as tying into the
existing bulkheads. In addition, we will be permanently removing a large area of the existing docks and
adding one small floating dock. The existing boat lift will remain as is.
Attached for your use are 1: 2 ea. drawings of the proposed repairs, 2: Copies of Riparian statements
that were sent to adjacent property owners by certified mail with stamped envelopes including the
return address to your office, 3: Copies of certified mail receipts for the riparian owners and 4: A check
in the amount of $400.00 for the permit application fee.
