We were led to believe that the house is in contract and has not closed after meeting with Mr. and Mrs. Dean. This is important, if given cart blanche, and they become unhappy, a new owner might take advantage. Before we sign off, we need some clarification again of the proposed parts. One of the main reasons we are concerned is how is a 33 foot yacht/boat will affect our present view plus another large boat. We enjoy our water view and don't want to lose any part of it. Concerning the new drawing: 1. Although it says "replace" existing lift, we were told that it is not going to be done; but, only the present lift repaired. 2. I think the word "replace" existing dock has been erased but just want to make sure. 3. Concerning the new lift being proposed, we were told that it would be for a 33 foot yacht/boat but don't know if it could accommodate even a larger yacht/boat. The proposed project is to replace a 5' by 40' long pier with a 16' by 24' platform, replace an existing on the north side of the platform, and add a new 13' by 13' boatlift to the south side of the platform. The development is not to exceed 56' waterward from the existing bulkhead and is not to encroach closer than 15' to the riparian access lines. The Division has determined that the proposed development complies with the rules of the Coastal Resources Commission in 15A NCAC 07H.1200. Therefore, the Division issued CAMA General Permit #65278-C to Mr. Roger Dean on November 04, 2014. A copy of the permit is enclosed for your review. If you wish to contest the Division's decision to issue this permit, you may file a request for a third party hearing.
