Attached is a plan of the disposal site showing the proposed disposal pile perpendicular to the road. Recent surveys show that there will be add'l material to be dredged, maybe as much as 10,000 CY (orig quantity was 5,100 CY - word is we will not dredge more than 10,000). Our construction folks are hoping to modify the alignment of the disposal pile, ideally more parallel to the road and thus closer, making it easier and faster for contractor to get in and out. Do you need to coordinate with the property owner about this alignment? I have an inquiry in to NC Division of Coastal Management to make sure this type modification is still consistent, but have a disclaimer that I need to check with you and property owner to make sure such a change is okay. FYI - the attachment is two pages, the other one is a request (also to NCDCM making sure it's onsistent) to construct sandbags all the way across the gap, where rock riprap is. I sent ooth requests to NCDCM in one email, and both plan sheets were scanned as one attachment. I don't think NCDCM will have problems with either one, but we sure don't want to get in a fix at this stage of the game. Any questions, or if we need to meet on site to discuss the disposal material alignment, please let me know.
