Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that I) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certifythat this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Attached are copies of the request for waiver we received 27 September 2013 and copies of our response to a very
similar request received in 2011. This year's new drawing does not address the issue we had with the addition of the 4
post boat lift proposed along the side of the dock. We do not agree to waive the 15' set back since installation of the 4
post boat lift as now proposed would impede the natural channel thereby closing our only access. We offered an
alternative position but since that has not been accepted we do not agree to a waiver.

Attached is a rough sketch (not to scale) of the existing dock with proposed alterations to which we do not object. We
feel that if the proposed lifts are installed as shown they would not inhibit the use of the natural channel. We
understand that once an "official" permit request is submitted we will be given an opportunity to review the final
design. Our only request is that use of the natural channel not be inhibited.
