l0 1974the North Carolina General assembly passed the Coastal Area Management act
(C AMA) and set the stage fur guiding development in fragile and productive areas that
border tite stairs sounds and oceanfront. Alone, with requii int, special care by those who

build and develop, the General Assembly directed the Coastal Resources Commission
j )
(CRC:) to implement clear regulations that minimize the burden on the applicant.
This application for a minor development permit under CAMA is part of the
Cummissioa's effort to meet the spirit and intent of the General Assembly. It has been
designed to be straightfonsard and require no more time or effort than necessary from
the applicant, Please go over this folder with the Local Permit Officer (ITO) for the
locality in which you plan to build to be certain that ypu understand what information he
or she needs before you apply.

Under CA 1LA regulations. file minor permit is to be issued within 25 days once a

complete application is in hand, Often less time is needed it the project is simple. The

process generally takes about lY clays. You can speed the approval process by making
certain that tour application is complete and signed, that yourdran'in)a meets the

are not CAMA-related, we urge you to check with the Local Permit Officer to determine

Thanks for your quick response.
Grade level has to be two feet above flood line aril front of lot is nine, so two feet will be need to be added
and then maintain eleven foot grade to back of house. The elevation and terrace walls will be real close to
what your lot and retaining wall elevations are now, if anyone would like a visual they are welcome visit my lot
and look at your height elevations and see how n'ltrch fill Will be required.

COUNTY OF CARTERET COVENANT AMENDMENT
The Cape Point Homeowners' Association, Inc., pursuant to the powers and
obligations of said Association set forth in the "Declaration of Covenants. Restrictions
and .Easements for Cape Point" of record in Book 888, Page 42, Carteret County
Registry, at the,_ day of 2006 Board of Directors' Meeting did pursuant
to the direction of the NC Division of Water Quality adopt the following Regulations for
all of Cape Point Subdivision Properties as shown on that map of record in Map Book 29,
page 783, Carteret County Registry.
REGULATIONS and RESTRICTIONS
(a.) "Each of the 42 lots is limited to a maximum built -upon area. Lots 1-4, 6, 8-15,
and 1842 are limited to 6210 square feet; lots 5 & 7 are limited to 10,000 square
feet; and lots 16 & 17 are limited to 8,000 square feet of built -upon area. This
allotted amount includes any built -upon area constructed within the lot property
boundaries, and that portion of the right-of-way between the front lot line and the
edge of the pavement. Built upon area includes, but is not limited to, structures,
asphalt, concrete, gravel, brick, stone, slate, and coquina, but does not include
raised, open wood decking, or the water surface of swimming pools."
(b.) "The covenants pertaining to stormwater regulations may not be changed or
deleted without the concurrence of the Division of Water Quality."
(c.) "Filling in or piping of any vegetative conveyances (ditches, swales, etc.)
associated with the development except for average driveway crossings is strictly
prohibited by any persons."
