in an area of environment concern pursuant to Section 113A-118 of the
General Statutes, "Coastal Area Management'
Issued to the Town of Morehead City, authorizing development in the Estuarine Shoreline (AEC) at 608 Avery St., in
Morehead City, -as requested in the permittee's application, dated 1/26/07. This permit, issued on 6/13/07, is subject to
compliance with the application and site drawing (where consistent with the permit), all applicable regulations and
special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may subject permittee to a fine, imprisonment
or civil action, or may cause the permit to be null and void.
This permit authorizes: Construction of Gazebo on existing concrete slab
(1) All proposed development and associated construction must be done in accordance with the permitted work plat
drawings(s) dated received on 5/31/07.
(2) All construction must conform to the N.C. Building Code requirements and all other local, State and Federal regulations,
applicable local ordinances and FEMA Flood Regulations.
(3) Any change or changes in the plans for development, construction, or land use activities will require a re-evaluation and
modification of this permit.
(4) A copy of this permit shall be posted or available on site. Contact this office at (252) 8.08-2808 for a final inspection at
completion of work.

This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other qualified persons
within twenty (20) days of the issuing date. From the date of an appeal, any
work conducted under this permit must cease until the appeal is resolved. This
permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the
project 'is inspected for compliance. Any maintenance work or project
modification not covered under this permit, require further written permit
approval. All work must cease when this permit expires on:

In issuing this permit it is agreed that this project is consistent with the local Land
Use Plan and all applicable ordinances. This permit may not be transferred to

(5) Unless specifically allowed in 15A NCAC 07H. 0209(d)(10), and shown on the permitted plan drawing, all
development/construction shall be located a distance of 30 feet landward of NHW. No portion of the roof overhang
shall encroach into the 30 ft. buffer. In this case, the gazebo will be placed over existing impervious area.
(6) All unconsolidated material resulting from associated grading and landscaping shall be retained on site by effective
sedimentation and erosion control measures. Prior to any land -disturbing activities, a barrier line of filter cloth must
be installed between the land disturbing activity and the adjacent marsh or water areas, until such time as the area
has been properly stabilized with a vegetative cover.
(7) Any proposed for grading within the 30' buffer from the NHW must be contoured to prevent additional stormwater
runoff to the adjacent marsh. This area shall be immediately vegetatively stabilized, and must remain in a vegetated
state.
(8) All other disturbed areas shall be vegetatively stabilized (planted and mulched) within 14 days of construction
completion.

The Town of Morehead City plans to install a 16' gazebo and wooden ramp at the new pier recently
constructed east of N. 7th & Bay St. The Town is required to obtain a CAMA Permit prior to construction.
In order to obtain a CAMA Permit the Town is required to provide written notice of the proposed project
to adjoining riparian property owners. The purpose of this letter is to provide notice of the project in
accordance with the CAMA requirements.
Proposed improvements should require approximately 1 month for construction once permits are
obtained
Property owners desiring to comment on the proposed work must do so in writing within thirty (30) days
of receipt of this notice. No response will be interpreted as no objection.
Written comments must be addressed to:

Notice is hereby given that the town of Morehead City has applied to the Department of
Environment and Natural Resources for a CAMA Minor Development permit. The town is
requesting to construct a gazebo. The property is located at 608 Avery St. in Morehead City,
NC, Carteret Co.
Persons desiring to inspect the application, or to comment thereon, are directed to contact

The Town of Morehead City plans to install a 16' gazebo and wooden ramp at the new pier recently
constructed east of N. 70' & Bay St. The Town is required to obtain a CAMA Permit prior to construction
In order to obtain a CAMA Permit the Town is required to provide written notice of the proposed project
to adjoining riparian property owners. The purpose of this letter is to provide notice of the project in
accordance with the CAMA requirements.

FOR DEVELOPERS IN OCEAN HAZARD AND ESTUARINE HAZARD AREAS:
I acknowledge that the land owner is aware that the proposed development is planned for an area which may be susceptible to
erosion and/or flooding. I acknowledge that the local permit officer has explained to me the particular hazard problems associ-
ated with this lot. This explanation was accompanied by recommendations concerning stabilization and floodproofing tech-
niques.

permit. The drawing may be simple and not necessarily to scale. The Local Permit Officer will help you, if
requested.
