Coastal and Flood Plain Constructlon Standards of the N. C. Building Code, and the Local Flood Damage
Prevention Ordinance as required by the National Flood Insurance Program. If any provisions of the building code
or a Hood damage prevention ordinance are Inconsistent with any of the following AEC standards, the more
restrictive provision shall control.
(10)Swimming pools shall be landward of the vegetation Ana; involve no disturbance of dune vegetation or alteration or
removal of primary or frontal dunes that would compromise the Integrity of the dune as a protective landform,
Swtmming pools are not essential to the oontlnued exletence or use of an associated principal development; shall
not be required to satlefy minimum requirements of local zoning, subdivision or health regulations; and shall meet all
other non -setback requkernents of subchapter 15A NCAC 07H.0309(a)p).
(11) An adjacent deck or apron, 6 feet wide, Is included as part of the swimming pool The pod deck can be any material
(oonorete, stone, brick, wood, stm). NOTE: You oannot reduce the width of the pool deck on one aide of the pool to
allow more than 6 feet on the opposite side. Any additional decking must be subtracted from the 500 square feet
(footprint) deck allowance within the ocean front setback. It must be elevated, slatted and structurally Independent
from the pool or pool deck.

changes In shoreline configuration. The structurefs) shall be rebcatsd or dismantled within two years of the time
when it becomes Imminently threatened, and In any case upon its oollaose or subsidence. However, N natural
shoraline recovery or beach renourtshment takes place within two years of the time the structure becomes
Imminently threatened, so that the structure Is no longer Imminently threatened, then It need not be relocated or
dismantled at that this. This oonditlon shad not affect the permit holder's right to seek authorization of temporary
protective measures allowed under CRC rules,
