Issued to Cathy Boyette, authorizing development in the Estuarine Shoreline (AEC) at 113 BY2 Marina Village, in Atlantic
Beach, N.C., as requested in the permittee's application, dated March 26, 2007. This permit, issued on April 12, 2007, is
subject to compliance with the application and site drawing (where consistent with the permit), all applicable regulations
and special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may subject permittee to a fine,
imprisonment or civil action. or may cause the pan -nit to be null and void.
This permit authorizes a 4' open deck addition to the existing open deck located 55 landward of the normal high watermark. This
permit does not authortze an increase in impervious surface area.
(1) All proposed development and associated construction must be done in accordance with the permitted work plat drawing
received on March 26, 2007.
(2) All construction must conform to the N.C. Building Code requirements and all other local, State and Federal regulations,
applicable local ordinances and FEMA Flood Regulations.
(3) Any change or changes in the plans for development, construction, or land use activities will require a re-evaluation and
modiftcatjon of this permit.
(4) A copy of this permit shall be posted or available on site. Contact this office at [phone] for a final inspection at
completion of work.
This permit action may be appealed by the permidee or other qualified persons
within twenty (20) days of the issuing date. Frorn .the date of an appeal, any
work eonductod under this pemit must cease unfit the appeal is resolvod. This
permit must be on the projoct site and =essible to the permit officer when the
project is inspected for complianco. Any maintenance work or project
modification rw: covered under this permit, require further written permit
approval. All work must cease when this pormil expires on:

In issuing this permit its agreed that this project is consistent with the local Land

The N.C. Division of Coastal Management hereby acknowledges receipt of your application for
State approval for minor development of your property located at 113 8% Marina Village in Atlantic
Beach in Carteret County. It was received complete on March 26, 2007 and appears to be
adequate for processing at this time. The deadline for making a permit decision is April 20, 2007.
NCGS 113A-119(b) requires that Notice of an application be posted at the location of the proposed
development. Enclosed you will find a "Notice of Permit Filing" postcard which must be posted at
the property of your proposed development. You should post this notice at a conspicuous point
along your property where it can be observed from a public road. Some examples would be:
Nailing the notice card to a telephone pole or tree along the road right-of-way fronting your
property; or at a point along the road right-of-way where a private road would lead one into your
property. Failure to post this notice could result in an incomplete application.
An onsite inspection will be made, and if additional information is required, you will be notified.

I acknowledge that the land owner is aware that the proposed development is planned for an area which may be susceptible

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Briley:
I have reviewed the information submitted to this office in your inquiry concerning
the necessary filing of an application for a CAMA Minor Development Permit under the
Coastal Area Management Act. After making a site inspection today, I have
determined that the activity you propose is exempt from needing a CAMA Minor
Development Permit, as long as it remains consistent with your project drawing,
submitted on February 14, 2007 and it also meets the conditions specified below. If
your plans should change and your project will no longer meet these conditions, please
contact me before proceeding.
SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCES WITHIN THE ESTAURINE SHORELINE AREA OF
ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERN EXEMPTED
1. All development shall be located at least 40 feet of the mean high water
mark or normal water level, and shall not exceed a 30% impervious
coverage within 75 feet of the mean high water mark or normal water
level.
2. No ground disturbance or land disturbing activity shall occur within 40
feet of the mean high water mark or normal water level.
3. The development shall be consistent with all other applicable CAMA
permit standards, North Carolina Building Code standards, local
ordinances and local land use plans in effect at the time the exemption
is granted.
