This permit, issued on 8/29/05 is subject to compliance with tho application and site drawing (where consistent
with the permit), all applicable regulations and special conditions and notes sot forth below. Any violation of these terms may subject
parmittoo to a fine, imprisonmont or civil action, or may cause the permit to be null and void.
This is a permit authorizing the placement of fill landward of the bulkhead for approximately 20' located at 116
Hoop Pole Creek Dr. Any other development will require additional permits or a modification of this permit.
The following conditions shall apply:
All proposed development must be done in accordance with the permitted workplat drawing as submitted, stamped and
received on August 16, 2005.
Any change or changes in the plans for development, construction, or land use activities will require a re-evaluation and
modification of this permit.
Grading within the 30' buffer from the normal high water mark must be contoured to prevent additional stormwater runoff
to the adjacent marsh, This area shall be Immediately vegetatively stabilized and must remain in a vegetated state.
All unconsolidated material resulting from associated grading and landscaping shall be retained on site by effective
sedimentation and erosion control measures. Prior to any land disturbing activities, a barrier line of filter cloth must be
installed between the land disturbing activity and the adjacent marsh or water areas until such time as the area has be
properly stabilized with a vegetative cover.
In order to prevent sedimentation, a vegetated buffer zone must be maintained between all disturbed areas and the
adjacent water body or marsh. Prior to initiating any land -disturbing activities, a barrier line of filter cloth, staked hay
bales or burlap must be installed between the land -disturbing activity and the adjacent marsh or water areas, until such
time as the area has been property stabilized with a vegetated cover.
Pursuant to 15 NCAC, Subchapter 7J.0406(b), this permit may not be assigned, transferred, sold or otherwise disposed
of to a third party.
This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other
qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing dato_
From the date of an appeal, any work conducted under this per-
mit m,.st cease until tho appeal is rosolvod.
This permit must be on tho project site and accessible to the
permit officor when tho projoct is Inspected for compliance.
Any maintonance work or project modifications not covered
under this permit requires further written permit approval.
All work must cease whon this permit expires on December
31, 2008
In issuing this permit it is agreed that this project is consistent
with the local Land Use Plan and all applicable ordinances.
This permit may not be transferred to anothor party without
the written approval of the Division of Coastal Management

Dear Sir or Madam:
The N.C. Division of Coastal Management hereby acknowledges receipt of your application for
State approval for minor development of your property located at 116 Hoop Pole Creek Dr. in
Atlantic Beach in Carteret County. It was received complete on August 16, 2005 and appears to
be adequate for processing at this time. The deadline for making a permit decision is September
10, 2005.
NCGS 113A-119(b) requires that Notice of an application be posted at the location of the
proposed development. Enclosed you will find a "Notice of Permit Filing" postcard which must be
posted at the property of your proposed development. You should post this notice at a
conspicuous point along your property where it can be observed from a public road. Some
examples would be: Nailing the notice card to a telephone pole or tree along the road right-of-
way fronting your property; or at a point along the road right-of-way where a private road would
lead one into your property. Failure to post this notice could result in an incomplete application.
An onsite inspection will be made, and if additional information is required, you will be notified.

CAMA MINOR DEVELOPMENT PERMIT
Pursuant to NCGS 113A-119(b), the Town of Atlantic Beach, a locality authorized to issue
CAMA Permits in areas of environmental concern, hereby gives notice that on August 16,
2005 Chaucer Investments, LLC. applied for a CAMA Permit to place fill on their lot located
at 116 Hoop Pole Creek Dr. in Atlantic Beach, NC. The application may be inspected at the
address below. Public comments received by August 29, 2005 will be considered. Later
comments will be accepted and considered up to the time of permit decision. Project
modifications may occur based on further review and comments. Notice of the permit
decision in this matter will be provided upon written request.

material 20 feet into the buffer area. This process would allow the lot to drain properly
after heavy rains. If approved, I intend to plant a ground cover on the lot once this
operation is complete.
