Knightdale, N.C. 27545 Subject: Minor Permit Modification Permit # 45-01 Carteret County Dear Mr. Gower, On September 21, 2001, you were issued Minor Permit #45-01 for the construction of a house at the terminus of Jones Street in Cedar Point, Carteret County. At the time of the permit decision, the permit did not authorize any disturbance within 30' of the normal high water level. On May 28, 2002 I met with George Moore and John Odum on -site to confirm the normal high water level and the proposed location of the house. During this meeting Mr. Moore indicated that he anticipated some minimal grading within the 30' buffer for which there was no current authorization. We discussed what it would take to modify the current permit and letters of no objection were forwarded to this office for the subject modification. Since you have provided letters of no objection from both of your adjacent riparian neighbors to allow for the additional land disturbance, your minor permit is being modified accordingly. Minor permit #45-01 is modified to allow for the additional disturbance within 30'. of the normal high water level with the following condition: • Any disturbance within the 30' area should be immediately stabilized and revegetated. • No marsh should be impacted through the additional fill requested. • The extent of the disturbance within the buffer area is limited to the location of the silt fence on -site during the May 28, 2002 meeting. • NOTE: Please attach this letter to you original authorization. NCGS 113A-119(b) requires that Notice of an application be posted at the location of the proposed development. You should post this notice at a conspicuous point along your property where it can be observed from a public road. Some examples would be: Nailing the notice card to a telephone pole or tree along the road right-of- way fronting your property; or at a point along the road right-of-way where a private road would lead one into your property. Failure to post this notice could result in an incomplete application. An onsite inspection will be made, and if additional information is required, you will be notified.
