Box 507 Atlantic Beach, NC 28512 RE: EXEMPTED PROJECT (MINOR) FILE NUMBER: 99-3094 Dear Joe, APR 0 8 1999 We have reviewed the information submitted to this office in your inquiry concerning the necessity of filing an application for a minor development permit under the Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA). The activity you propose is exempt from needing a minor development permit as long as it meets the conditions specified below. If your plans should change and your project will no longer meet those conditions, please contact the CAMA Local Permit OfficerBuilding Inspector before proceeding. DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY AND CONDITIONS: 7K.0209 ACCESSORY USES The accessory use must be directly related to the existing dominant use, must not require any plumbing, electrical or other service connections and must not exceed 200 square feet or disturb a land area greater than 200 square feet on slope of greater than 10 percent. The development must not involve removal, damage, or destruction of threatened or endangered animal or plant species; the development must not alter naturally or artificially created surface drainage channels; the development must not alter the land form or vegetation of a frontal dune; the development must not be within twenty feet of any permanent surface waters; and the development must be consistent with all applicable use standards and local land use plans in effect at the time this exemption is granted. In this case, as per the approved plans dated 04/06/99, you have been approved to rebuild a dune deck 10' x 16' with beach access steps, at the Hoachlander property, lot 5, 609 Salter Path Road, Pine Knoll Shores, Carteret County, NC.
