INLET HAZARD AREA
1. All development in the Inlet Hazard Area shall be set back from the first line of stable
vegetation of .a distance of 15.0 feet,.. as. shown on. the CAMA_ap�lication
2. Permanent structures shall be permitted at a density of no more than one residential
unit per 15,000.square feet.
3. Established common-law and statutory public rights of access to the public trust lands
and waters in inlet hazard areas shall not be eliminated or restricted.
4. Structure must be located entirely off the frontal dune, and, if a primary dune is present,
behind the crest of the dune.
5. The structure must be elevated on pilings with a diameter of at least eight inches, and, the
the first floor level of the sills andjoists must meet the minimal 100.year flood floor level.
6. All pilings shall have a tip penetration of at least 16 feet below the lowest ground eleva-
tion under the structure; if located on aprimary dune, the tip penetration becomes five feet
below mean sea level.
7. All silts/sedimentation run-off must remain on site.
8. NO filling shall take place outside the hash marks, as shown on the CAMA application.
This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other
qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing date.
From the date of an appeal, any work conducted under this per-
mit m.st cease until the appeal is resolved.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the
permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance.
Any maintenance work or project modifications not covered
under this permit requires further written permit approval.
All work must cei E en this permit3texpires on December
31.
In issuing this permit it is agreed that this project is consistent
with the local Land Use Plan and all applicable ordinances.
This permit may not be transferred to another party without
the written approval of the Division of Coastal Management.

I acknowledge that the land owner is aware that the proposed development is planned for an area which may
be susceptible to erosion and/or flooding. I acknowledge that the local permit officer has explained to me the
particular hazard problems associated with this lot. This explanation was accompanied by recommendations
concerning stabilization and floodproofing techniques.
PERMISSION TO ENTER ON LAND

and his agents to enter on the aforementioned lands in connection with evaluating information related to this

CAMA Permit Notice
Pursuant to NCGS 113A-119(b), Emerald Isle, a locality authorized to issue
permits in Areas of Environmental Concern, hereby gives NOTICE that on June
15, 1999, Charles and Emily Egerton applied for a Minor CAMA permit to build
a single-family dwelling, 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, concrete drive, and decking at
8908 Sound View, Emerald Landing, Block 40, Lot 34.
The application may be inspected at the address below. Public comments
received by June 29, 1999 will be considered. Later comments will be accepted
and considered up to the time of permit decision. Project modifications may occur
based on further review and comments. Notice of the permit decision in this
matter will be issued upon written request.
