Dear Mr. Souder:
We have reviewed the information submitted to this office in your
inquiry concerning the necessity of filing an application for a minor
development permit under the Coastal Area'Management"Act. The proposed
project, as submitted', is in accordance with the enclosed Criteria for
Exemption and will not require a minor development permit. However,
if your plans should change you will need to contact this office
before proceeding.
Proposed project and location .is described as: A 4' x 16'
pier at your lot #33 of the Paradise Shores Subdivision in
Whortonsville, N. C. on Burton Creek; Pamlico County.
This Certification of Exemption from requiring a C.A.M.A. Minor
Permit is valid for ninety days from the date of issuance - applies
ONLY to exemptions for piers, docks, and decks pursuant to 15A NCAC
7K .0203 and NOT for single .family dwellings. Following expiration,
a re-examination.of the project and project site may be necessary to
renew this certification.
Prior to beginning the project a building permit is required
