RE: EPN #1944
Dear Mr. Shield:
We have reviewed the information submitted to this office in
your inquiry concerning the necessity of filing an application for
a minor development permit under the Coastal Area Management Act.
The proposed project, as submitted, is in accordance with the
enclosed Criteria for Exemption and will not not require a minor
development permit. However, if your plans should change you will
need to contact this office before proceeding.
The proposed project and location is described as follows:
A boat lift placed next to your dock at your property off SR1321
of the Fork Point Subdivision on Broad and Brown Creeks in Pamlico
County, North Carolina.
This certification of Exemption from requiring a C.A.M.A, Minor
Permit is valid for ninety days from the date of issuance - applies
ONLY to exemptions for piers, docks, and decks pursuant to 15A NCAC
7K .0203 and NOT for single family dwellings. Following expiration,
a re-examination of the project and project site may be necessary to
renew this certification.
Prior to beginning the project a building permit.is required
Sincerely,

ADJACENT RIPARIAN LANDOWNERS STATEMENT
General Statute 113-229 requires that riparian landowners with
property adjoining a proposed project be given. thirty (30) days in which to
comment on the project. This form allows the adjacent riparian landowner
to express either: (1) That he objects to the project; or, (2) That he does
not object and desires to waive his right to the 30-day period so that the
processing of the application can progress more rapidly. Of course, the
adjacent riparian landowner need not sign this form at.all if he so chooses.
We, Edward L. and Loretta Martin , own the riparian property
adjacent to the property owned by Richard T. and Lois S. Shield.
We have no objection to the propose oat lift to be placed next to
the dock on Broad Creek owned by the Shields and we waive that right of
objection as provided in General Statute
113/-,229.
