We have reviewed the information submitted to this office in your
inquiry concerning the necessity of filing an application for a minor
development permit under the Coastal Area Management Act. The proposed
project,,as submitted, is in accordance with the enclosed Criteria for
Exemption and will not require a minor development permit. However,
if your plans should change you will need to'contact this office
before proceeding.
Proposed project and location is described as: Construction of
an addition to an existing residential dwelling. The addition will
be a 20' x 30' garage at ground level with finished rooms above.
The location is at Murphy Subdivision, Section 2, lot #3 off SR 1332
Florence, N. C. on the Bay River in Pamlico County.
This Certification of Exemption from requiring a C.A.M.A. Minor
Permit is valid for ninety days from the date of issuance - applies
ONLY to exemptions for piers, docks, and decks pursuant to 15A NCAC
7K .0203 and NOT for single family dwellings. Following expiration,
a re-examination of the project and project site may be necessary to
renew this certification.
Prior to beginning the project a building permit is required
if you Have any questions regarding this matter, please contact us.
