Dear Mr. Teague:
We have reviewed the information submitted to this office in your request to construct a
Pier, with a tee, and fined you are exempt from needing a Minor Development Permit as long as
it meets the specifications below:
Your letters have been received and are on file in this office to the adjoining
property owners to advise of the project;
All pilings shall be a minimum of 64611 square and shall . have an . 8' minimum tip
penetration.
Prior -to construction, piling depths must be certified, either by an engineer -or having
the building inspector one site at the time of piling placement;
Construction: must conform to all applicable state and local construction requirements
as illustrated in Bogue Sound Pier/Boat lift specifications (Section 6-84).
•A pier is not to exceed 200' in length, or 4' of water at low tide, not to exceed 200
square feet for any tee(s); nor shall the pier exceed 6' in width.
Any variation of the above will require a C 10L permit; also, this certification of exemption
from requiring a C Y1A permit is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Following
expirations, a re-examinations of the project acid project site may be necessary to renew this
certification.
