Dear Mr North:
We have reviewed the information sul-xnitted to this office in your request to construct a
pier, with a tee, and find you are exempt from needing a Minor Development Permit as long as
it meets the specifications below:
Your letters have been received and are on file in this office to the adjoining
property owners to advise of the project;
All pi 1 ings _shall be a minimum of 6"x6" square and shall have an 8' minimum tip
penetrat ion.
Prior to construct ion, piling depths must becertified, either by an engineer or having
the building inspector on site at the time of piling placement;
Construction must conform to all applicable state acid local construction requirements
as illustrated in Bogue Sound Pier,/Boat lift specifications (Section 6-84).
A pier is not to exceed 200' in length, or 4' of water at low tide, riot to exceed 200
square feet for any tees); nor shall the pier exceed 6' in width.
71ie platform portion of any tee may not cover marshlands.
Any variation of the above will require a CAMA permit; also, this certification of exemption
from requiring a CAMA permit is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance- Following
expiration, a re-examination: of the project grid project site may be necessary to renew this
certification.
