Any violation of these terms may subject permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action; or may cause the permit to be null and void. 7H.1800 BEACHBULLD02ING 1. No excavations below one (1) foot in depth are allowed; All work must be above the high water mark, No work is allowed outside the lateral bounds of the applicant's property without the written approval of the adjacent property owners; 4. Erosion on adjacent properties shall not be increased as a result of this activity, 5. The slope shall stay effectively the same before and after this activity; 6. The work will not be allowed from May 1 st to November 15th in order to protect nesting loggerhead turtles; and 7. Damage to existing vegetation shall be minimized and the fill area will be replanted or temporarily stabilized until planting can be completed. 8. The Local Permit Officer/Building Inspector shall be notified prior to commencing any beach bulldozing activity. This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing date. From the date of an appeal, any work conducted under this permit must cease until the appeal is resolved. This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. Any maintenance work or project modifications not covered under this permit requires further written permit approval. All work must cease when this permit expires on December 31, 1998 In issuing this permit it is agreed that this project is consis- tent with the local Land Use Plan and all applicable ordinances. DEVELOPMENT PE IT In 1974, the North Carolina General Assembly passed the Coastal Area Management Act and set the stage for thiding development in the fragile and productive areas ch border the state's sounds and oceanfront. Along with requiring special care by those who build and develop, the General Assembly directed the Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) to implement clear regula- tions which minimize the burden on the applicant. This application for a minor development permit under CAMA is part of the Commission's effort to meet the spirit and intent of the. General Assembly. It has been 'designed to be straightforward and require no more time or effort necessary from the applicant. Please go over this folder.with the Local Permit Officer (LPO) for the locality in which`you plan to build to be certain that you understand what information he or she needs. Under CAMA.regulations, the minor permit is to be issued within 25 days once a complete application is in hand. Often less.time is needed if the project is simple. The process generally takes about 18 days.
