Dear Mr Harrison:
We have reviewed tl-ie information sU mitted to this office in your request to construct a
pier, with a tee, and find you are exempt frart.needing a Minor Development Permit as long as
it meets tl-ie specifications below:
Your letters have been received and are on file in this office to the adjoining
property owners to advise of the project;
All pilings shall be a minimum of 611x6" square and shall have an 8' minimum tip
' penetration.
Prior to construction, piling depths must be certified, either by an engineer or having
the building inspector on -site at the time of piling placement;
Construction must conform to all applicable state and local construction requirements
as illustrated in Bogue Sound Pier/Boat lift specifications (Section 6-84).

A'pier is not to exceedt2001 in length, or 4' of water at low tide, not to exceed 200
- square feet for any tee(s); nor shall the pier exceed 61,in width.
The platform portion of any tee may not cover marshlands.

Any variation of-.the•above will require a CAMA permit; also, this certification of exemption
from requiring a CAMA permit is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Following
F expiration, a re-examination of the project and project site may be necessary to renew this
certification. ,
