CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH ALL BEACH BULLDOZING MUST BE COMPLETED:
1. Any bulldozing request to reconstruct or repair frontal and/or
primary dunes is defined as the process of moving natural beach
material from any point seaward of the first line of stable
vegetation to repair damage to frontal and/or primary dunes caused
by a major storm event. This permit shall not apply to the Inlet
Hazard Area of Environmental Concern.
2. Beach bulldozing (moving sand from any point seaward of the
first line of stable vegetation to create a protective dike or for
any other purpose) may be permitted if all the following conditions
are met: -
a. Beach material is removed no deeper than one foot below the
existing surface elevation.
b. The movement of material maintains a slope that does
the public's use of the beach;
c. The project does not go beyond the bounds of the
applicant's property without the permission of the neighboring
property owners;
d. The project does not increase erosion on neighboring
properties;
e. No material is removed from below the mean low-water line;
f. The project ,does not damage important natural or cultural
resources; and
g. The movement of material protects the threatened
structure's foundation or threatened on -site waste disposal
system.
