PO Box 820 Atlantic Beach, NC 28512 OEC 2 2 1989 )' REFERENCE: Exempted Project (Minor 69-89) Exemption #3, Sportsman's Pier, Money Island Drive, Lot 1 Dear David: We have reviewed the information submitted to this office in your inquiry concerning the necessity of filing an application for a minor development permit under the Coastal Area Management Act. The activity you propose is exempt from needing a minor development permit as long as it meets the conditions specified below. If your plans should change and your project will no longer meet those conditions, please contact me before proceeding. DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY AND CONDITIONS: According to your drawing, you propose to construct steps from the existing deck to the beach as a means of access. This construction is exempt from needing a CAMA-Minor Permit. Structural pedestrian accessways must not exceed 6' in width and may not be for commercial or motor -powered vehicular use. The accessway shall be constructed over the frontal dune without any alteration of the dune beyond the driving of pilings.
