Along with requiring special care by those who build and develop, the General Assembly directed the Coastal. Resources Commission (CRC) to implement clear regulations that minimize the burden on the applicant. This application for a minor development permit under CAMA is part of the Commission's effort to meet the spirit and intent of the General Assembly. It has been designed to be straightforward and require no more time or effort than necessary from the applicant. ,please go over this folder with the Local Permit Officer (LPO) for the Iocality In which you plan to build to be certain that you understand what information he or she needs before you apply, Under CAMA, regulations, the minor permit Is to be issued within 25 days once a complete application is in hand. Other permits are sometimes required for development in the coastal. area. This decision is based on my finding that your request violates 15 NCAC 07H.0601 which states that: "No development shall he allowed in any AEC which would result is a contravention or violation of any rules, regulations, or laws of the State of North Carolina or of local government in which the development takes place. " You have applied to construct a single-family dwelling which is inconsistent with State Stormwater Permit SW$ 060625 which we have on file for the Mariners Pointe Subdivision. The Stormwater Permit allows for 4,200 square feet of impervious coverage per lot and the Building Permit Application shows 5,245 square feet of impervious coverage. LAMA Minor permit Application #13-05 will be placed on hold as of today. Should you obtain a modification to the existing Stormwater Permit or modify the impervious coverage amount to 4,200 square feet or less, you may submit the new information to me and your LAMA Minor Permit Application will be reevaluated. A local decision will be made within 21 days of receipt of the new infonmation, provided this period is not extended as provided by law.
