Dear Mr. Scars:
We have reviewed the information submitted to this office in your inquiry concerning the necessity of
filing an application for a minor development permit under the Coastal Area Management Act (LAMA).
The activity you propose is exempt from needing a minor development permit as long as it metes the
conditions specified below'. If your plans should change and your project will no longer meet those
conditions, please contact me before proceeding.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY ,AND CONDMONS:
SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENCES: (7K02081

A single-family residence:must be located more than forty (40') feet landward of the mean high water
mark or normal water level within the Estuarine Shoreline Area of Environmental Concern. No land
disturbing activity may occur within that forty (40') feet buffer zone. Confirmation must be provided that
written statements have been obtained from adjacent riparian property owners indicating that they have no
objections to the proposed work. As per the approved plans dated April 14, 2005, you arc proposing to
construct a single-family residence located at 154 Oakleaf Drive, pine Knoll Shores, Carteret County. N.
:C., more than 40 feet landward of the mean high water mark. The approved plans indicate an impervious
coverage not to exceed 30% of the Area of Environmental Concern. Any change in plans shall be
approved by the CAMA Local Permit Officer/Building Inspector prior to work commencing.
