In addition to the site visit, I have reviewed documents furnished by your office as copies of the CAMA application submitted by Mr. Humenik for approval of consnvction of the terraced bulkhead slonr his Neuse River shore. My comments relative to the proposed terrace bulkhead construction is as follows: 1. The bulldread creates a "hardened" shoreline that during periods of high storm tides and wind driven waves will increase the velocity of the storm water alon,c the buH!4ad and thus increase the possibility of erosion of the adjacent proper that is not hardened in a similar rnannef. 2. The terrace construction proposed will increase the protection of the Hmnenik property from storm driven wave erosion.
