I acknowledge that the local permit officer has explained to me the particular hazard problems associated with this lot. This explanation was accompanied by recommendations concerning stabilization and floodproofing techniques. Dear Mr. Beasley, x This letter is in response to your request to pipe the outlet ditch between two of your lots'on SR 1114. Due to a minimal amount of right of way being involved in this request, I am going to forego having you complete an encroachment agreement. I am by this letter approving your request to pipe the ditch noted above subject to the following: 1. It will be the responsibility of the property owner to adequately size the pipe to accommodate any surface runoff. The Department of Transportation will assume no responsibilty for an inadequately sized pipe. 2. The property owner is to contact the appropriate Utility Company(ies) involved and make satisfactory arrangements to adjust the utilities in conflict with the proposed work prior to beginning construction. 3. Notify Ken A. Mason, Pamlico County Maintenance Engineer, (919) 514-4731 prior to beginning and upon completion of work. 4. It will be the responsibility of the property owner page 2 to obtain all necessary permits for the installation. 4 5. All disturbed areas within the right of way shall be seeded and mulched to restore the existing vegetative cover. This letter covers only the piping of the subject outlet ditch. Any future requests to work within the right of way will require additional approval.
