Dear Mr. Kilburn:
We have reviewed the information submitted to this office in
your inquiry concerning the necessity of filing an application for
a minor development permit under the Coastal Area Management Act.
The proposed project, as submitted, is in accordance with the
enclosed Criteria for Exemption and will not not require a minor
development permit. However, if your plans should change you will
need to contact this office before proceeding.
The proposed project and location is described as follows:
Construction of a boat lift to an existing pier at lot #18 of
fork Point. Subdivision, Section 11 in the Pamlico County Community
of Whortonsville, North Carolina.
This certification of exemption from requiring a CARA permit is
valid for ninety (90) days from the date of issuance. Following
expiration, a re-examination of the project and project site may .be
necessary to renew this certification.
Please be advised that a building permit from the Pamlico County
inspections Department is required before construction is begun.
