Carteret County maintains a "Harbor of Refuge" in Glover Creek, off Styron Bay,
between Sea Level and Atlantic. This harbor is accessed through a bulkheaded channel.
Over time, this channel fills in with washed and blown sand, and becomes impassable.
With the hurricane season upon us, we need to dredge this channel so the harbor will be
accessible, if needed. To accomplish this project, a permit is required from the North
Carolina Division of Coastal Management.. As an adjacent property owner, your
comments are sought on this project.
Enclosed is a map showing the location of the channel dredging project. Also
enclosed is an "Adjacent Riparian Property Owner Statement" to be filled out and

Carteret County maintains a "Harbor of Refuge" in Glover Creek, off Styron Bay,
between Sea Level and Atlantic. This harbor is accessed through a bulkheaded channel.
Over time, this channel fills in with washed and blown sand, and becomes impassable.
With the hurricane season upon us, we need to dredge this channel so the harbor will be
accessible, if needed. To accomplish this project, a permit is required from the North
Carolina Division of Coastal Management.. As an adjacent property owner, your
comments are sought on this project.
Enclosed is a map showing the location of the channel dredging project. Also
enclosed is an "Adjacent Riparian Property Owner Statement" to be filled out and
returned to the County. After you have marked your form, please return it to:
