Attached are: • 8" x 11.5" drawing of the proposed crossing rebuild. (CP&L drawing number CT-43942) • One (1) copy each of two (2) signed right of way easements from property owners on each side of the river where the overhead power light exits the river, granting CP&L permission to cross the property. • Copy of a letter from NCDOT specifying the right of way width along the Hwy 70 bridge that crosses the river at this location. This letter, coupled with CP&L drawing CT-43942, will show that CP&L will not be encroaching on NCDOT right of way with this construction. • A brief description of the job and construction method that will be used to install the new poles for this project. Note: the existing line has four (4) poles in the water; the new line will only have two (2) poles in the water. • A $50.00 check, made payable to NCDENR, for permit authorization. OASTAL 7_ The rebuilt of the section of double circuit 33 kV line crossing the North River at Morehead City, NC in Carteret County will likely be constructed in the following manner: • On land: Nine single pole concrete poles are located immediately outside NCDOT right of way along US 70. Installation of these poles will require the auguring of 30 inch diameter holes to a depth of approximately 13 feet. The holes will be dug using a truck mounted drill. The holes will be filled with crushed stone. In water: Two single pole concrete poles will be located in the North River, and are also immediately outside the NCDOT right of way. Installation of these poles will require the use of a drill rig mounted on a barge. Installation will initiate with the driving of a temporary steel cylinder into the river bottom to a depth of about 20 feet. The soil will then be removed from the steel cylinder, the new pole will be installed, and the void filled with crushed stone. All soil will be collected on the barge and removed from the job site.
