Dear Mrs Wallace:
NORTH CAROL A DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENT AND ATURAL RESOURCES
5 June 2000
DIVISION OF COASTAL MANAGEMENT
JUN 14 2000
This correspondence is in reference to your 23 May 2000 letter in which you, as
DONNA D. MOFFITT one of the adjacent property owners, objected to Mr. J.S. Barnhill's proposal to construct
DIRECTOR a 6' x 112' pier with a 16' x 16' L-head and a 12' x 12' uncovered boatlift onsite his
property located at the end of SR 1746 at Teach's Point on Back Creek near Bath in
Beaufort County, North Carolina.
The Division of Coastal Management has given your objection careful
consideration and has determined that the project as proposed is consistent with the
appropriate rules and regulations of the Division. Consequently, the Division issued
General Permit No.25030B on 5 June 2000 to Mr. J.S. Barnhill for the proposed pier
construction and boatlift . See attached.
If you wish to appeal this permit decision, you may file a request with the Director
of the Division of Coastal Management, Department of Environment and Natural
Resources within 20 days of the permit decision. If you have any questions regarding this
matter, please don't hesitate to contact me in the Washington Regional Office at 252-946-
6481.
Sincerely,
Ter E. Moore
