bulkhead, riprap, boat lift, boat house, and perform dredging at property off SR1240, Hobucken,
AIWW, Pamlico County.

Dear Mr. Simpson:
The signature on the attached Adjacent Riparian Property Owner Statement
indicates that the Corps of Engineers has no objections to Mr. Watson's
proposal with respect to riparian rights and probable damage to United States
Government property. The signature does not relieve For. Watson of his
responsibility for obtaining Federal authorization pursuant to Section 10 of
the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 or Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
Questions regarding any environmental impacts or other general public
considerations associated with Mr. Watson's proposal will be addressed in
the public interest review process associated with his application for a
Department of the Army permit.
Mr. Watson contemplates the presence of structures and their attendant
utilities on lands subject to an easement in favor of the United States for
the operation, maintenance, improvement, and enlargement of the Atlantic
Intracoastal Waterway. Any Department of the Army authorization for such
structures will include the provision that he is required to remove such
structures and improvements at his own expense in the event that, in the
judgment of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers acting on behalf of the United
States, the lands are needed at any time for any purpose within the scope of
the easement. Permanent buildings will not be constructed within the
easement.
