Attached is General Permit #42496C- to construct a 75' X 5' dock with a 55' X 5' platform and to install 2
mooring pilings at 105 Front Street, Beaufort, North Carolina.
In order to validate this permit, please sign all three (3) copies as indicated. Retain the white copy for your
files and return the signed yellow and pink copies to us along with a check for $100.00 made payable to
DENR, in the enclosed, self-addressed envelope. If the signed permit copies and check for permit fee are
not returned to this office before the initiation of development, you will be working without authorization
and will be subject to a Notice of Violation and subsequent civil penalties.

Dear Mark:
I enclose herewith a copy of the following documents:
- Above described Notification Letter dated July 27 (the "Letter")
- Copy of the "Division of Coastal Management Adjacent Riparian Property Owner
Notification/Waiver Form included with such letter;
- Copy of the drawing of the proposed docks included with such letter (the "Drawing"); and
- Copy of a former map sent to me by Mr. Tolson showing the entire subdivision of the
UHF property. ( the "Subdivision Map")
As best I can determine, the Drawing does not reflect a proposed dock on Lot No. 2, but on a
lot on the South side of Front Street. Also, as I have indicated to you in other letters, the
drawing indicates adock suitable for 4 smalls boats, or 2 small boats and 1 large one.
Since the drawing does not reflect a proposed dock on property adjacent to mine (ie. Lot #2), 1
must assume that the Notice is defective and therefore null and void. If I am incorrect, please
advise me.
