Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that [)prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Dear Mr. Hardeman,
I wish to perform some maintenance on my boat slip located within the above
referenced property, in particular, Boat Slip No. 1, as shown on the attached sketch.
The proposed maintenance is dredging the slip to maintain the ability to maneuver into
and out of the slip safely at low tide. I am currently unable to do this.
I plan to contract this work with Mr. Dean Barnes of Barnes Dredging, 107 Old
Causeway Road, Atlantic Beach, North Carolina 28512, telephone number 252-241-
1504. The dredged materials will be removed offsite and transported to an
appropriate fill area in accordance with applicable municipal, county, state, and
federal rules and regulations.
I have estimated that the volume of the material to be removed will be approximately
2,000 cubic feet or 74.1 cubic yards, measured by fifty feet long x 10 feet wide x 4 feet
deep. I prepared a "Boat Slip Dredging" sketch showing the proposed limits of
dredging, copy attached, to show the location of the slip and illustrate the limits of
dredging. I have also attached tax map records of the subject slip and those of the
adjacent property owners.
As per your instructions, I obtained the approval of the property owners on either side of
me, Mr. Robert M. Lewis (161 1 Front Street) and Mr. Claude R. Wheatly III (1613 Front
