Re: Oyster Creek Access Area- near Davis, Carteret County
General Permit for Placement of Rip Rap
Dear Ms. Barrett:
The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (WRC) recently acquired property
at the junction of Oyster Creek and U.S. Highway 70 near Davis in Carteret County.
Upon acquisition, the WRC assumed responsibility for a site littered with debris, refuse
and remnants of abandoned structures. Pursuant to CAMA Minor Permit #093-03, the
site has been cleared; however, subsequent to removing hundreds of tires from the
shoreline, a spring storm caused severe shoreline erosion. In response, the WRC requests
authorization via general permit to place approximately 200 tons of Class I rip rap along
the shoreline as denoted on the attached drawing dated 04-30-03. The area of coverage is
approximately 2675 square feet and the maximum distance waterward of mean high
water is five feet. � `%0 G �.
In addition to the above noted drawing, I have included a check in the amount of $100.00
and verification that the adjacent riparian landowners have been notified. If you have any

ADJACENT RIPARIAN LANDOWNERS STATEMENT
General Statute 113-229 requires that riparian landowners with property adjoining a proposed
excavation and/or fill project be given thirty (30) days in which to comment on the project. This form allows
the adjacent riparian landowner to express either:
