Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certifythatthis project is consistentwith the North CarolinaCoastal Management Program.

RE: Objections to the Issuance of General Permit on S. Old Rpad in Nags Head, Dare County
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Drumheller:
This is in reference to your letter of objection dated July 11, 2003, regarding the issuance of a permit to Mr. and
Mrs. Larry Funk to construct a pier and (2) mooring pilings adjacent to his property at 6318 S. Old Road in Nags
Head, Dare County. The Division of Coastal Management reviewed the proposal and found it consistent with
T15A, Section 07H .1200: General Permit for Construction of Piers; Docks; and Boat Houses in Estuarine and
Public Trust Waters (Enclosed), and issued General Permit #34439A, to the Funk's on August 5, 2003, (See
Enclosed Permit).
If you wish to appeal this decision, you may file a request with the Director of the Division of Coastal Management,
Department of Environment and Natural Resources within twenty (20) days of the permit decision. If you have any
