Raleigh, NC 27606 Cell: 919-270-2712 Home: 919-859-0899 April 23, 2003 Coastal Management Attention: Terri Barrett Hestron Plaza 2 115B Highway 24 Morehead City, NC 28557 Ms. Barrett: APP �9, A 2003 As we discussed by telephone on April 22, 2003, we desire to install a boatlift and associated walkways in our existing boat basin at 303 Star Church Rd., Marshallberg. I will be do this work with the support of Glen Lewis of Marshallberg and Alton Joyner of Atlantic. As you know, both of the gentlemen have extensive experience in this type work. Attached for your review are the plans that illustrate the boat basin and the planned location of the lift. The lift will require installation of 4 X 8/9.5-inch pilings. The plans illustrate the required spacing based upon the specifications for the lift that Mr. Joyner and I are investigating. Piling spacing my change slightly based on the lift that is selected. I also propose to install up to 6 X 6/8-inch pilings to support the walkways that are needed for safe operation of the boatlift. Also attached is a sketch of the boat basin and the approximate location and dimensions of the lift and associated walkways. My neighbors Steve Mitchell and Toni Turner have signed the sketch indicating their agreement with our plans. Finally, I have included a check for $100.00 to DENR as payment for the required permit. Please use this information during your upcoming visit to the property to conduct an inspection that will allow issuance of the permit.
