The proposed project to be located and constructed as described
above is hereby certified as exempt from the CAMA permit re-
quirement pursuant to 15 NCAC 7K .0203. This exemption to
CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of
your obtaining any other State, Federal, or Local authorization.
This certification of exemption from requiring a CAMA permit is
valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Following expiration,
a re-examination of the project and project site maybe necessary
to continue this certification.

Any person who proceeds with a development without the con-
sent of a CAMA official under the mistaken assumption that the
development is exempted, will be in violation of the CAMA if there
is a subsequent determination that a permit was required for the
development.
The applicant certifies by signing this exemption that (1) the ap-
plicant has read and will abide by the conditions of this exemp-
tion, and (2) a written statement has been obtained from adjacent
landowners certifying that they have no objections to the
proposed work.

Enclosed is the signed Certificate of Exemption From Requiring a CAMA Permit for the above
referenced project. Per our phone conversation on November 16, 2000, it is my understanding that your
office forwarded a copy of this permit to Deborah Sawyer at the NC Division of Water Quality and this
type of shoreline protection as designed is exempt from the Neuse River Buffer Rules. With exempt
status we are not required to forward any correspondence or review request to the Division of Water
Quality.
Our plan is to begin and complete this project within the next four weeks. If you have any
questions, require further information, or have comments regarding the Division of Water Quality
jurisdiction please let me know as soon as possible.

revetment landward of CAMA flags and construct access ramp down bluff for rock installation
in Craven County adjacent to the Neuse River at lots 169 and 170 Phase II Neuse Harbor
Subdivision off HWY 70 near New Bern.
