This exemption to CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of your obtaining any other State, Federal, or Local authorization. This certification of exemption from requiring a CAMA permit is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Following expiration, a re-examination of the project and project site maybe necessary to continue this certification. Any person who proceeds with a development without the con- sent of a CAMA official under the mistaken assumption that the development is exempted, will be in violation of the CAMA if there is a subsequent determination that a permit was required for the development. Per our phone conversation on November 16, 2000, it is my understanding that your office forwarded a copy of this permit to Deborah Sawyer at the NC Division of Water Quality and this type of shoreline protection as designed is exempt from the Neuse River Buffer Rules. With exempt status we are not required to forward any correspondence or review request to the Division of Water Quality. Our plan is to begin and complete this project within the next four weeks.
