The proposed project to be located and constructed as described
above is hereby certified as exempt from the CAMA permit re-
quirement pursuant to 15 NCAC 7K .0203. This exemption to
CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of
your obtaining any other State, Federal, or Local authorization.
This certification of exemption from requiring a CAMA permit is
valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Following expiration,
a re-examination of the project and project site may be necessary
to continue this certification.

Any person who proceeds with a development without the con- ,1�r
sent of a CAMA official under the mistaken assumption that the, �
development is exempted, will be in violation of the CAMA if there
is a subsequent determination that a permit was required for the
development.
The applicant certifies by signing this exemption that (1) the ap-
plicant has read and will abide by the conditions of this exemp-
tion, and (2) a written statement has been obtained from adjacent
landowners certifying that they have no objections to the
proposed work.

Dear Mr. Spencer :
This letter is in reference to your CAMA Certificate of Exemption that was
issued on July 6, 2000. This Certificate authorized the construction of a pier
and platform structure along the shoreline of property located at Lot 1,
Herita-e Shores -North within the waters of Yeopim Creek in Perquimans
County.
On October 10, 2000, a site visit was conducted to determine and confirm that
your project was completed in accordance with the Specific Conditions
concerning piers and docks structures as referenced in Subchapter Sections 7H
.0207 and 7H .1200 of the North Carolina Administrative Code and the Coastal
Area Management Act. During this inspection. it became apparent that you
have not completed all the work proposed and previously authorized under the
above referenced Certificate. As a courtesy, I wish to remind you that this
CAMA Certificate of Exemption expired on October 3, 2000. Since the
remaining work falls within the permit jurisdictional areas defined as Public
Trust Area, as described in Subchapter Section 7H .0207 of the North Carolina
Administrative Code, a permit J or other necessary authorization will be
required from this Division prior to the completion of this project as originally
approved in this CAMA Certificate of Exemption.
